Richard F. Davis, a South Carolina native, founded Capitol Consultants in 1981. Since that time, the company has grown into the largest government affairs and association management firm in the state. Mr. Davis started his political career as a legislative assistant to a United States Congressman in Washington, DC and ran the political campaigns for the Congressman during his tenure.

​

He then became the Executive Vice President and Lobbyist for South Carolina's largest trade association with 10,000 members for 10 years before founding Capitol Consultants.

​

Mr. Davis is the author of A Manual for Incumbents, a book in its third printing that is distributed to all members of the legislature, constitutional officers, and elected officials throughout the state. He also speaks frequently on the political process and "How to Communicate Effectively with Members of the General Assembly" to college and high school students as well as civic clubs and business groups. 

 

As a strategic planning facilitator, Mr. Davis has developed a legislative strategic planning session that helps the client to focus on a more comprehensive plan of action. He has won numerous legislative awards and recognitions, including the Order of the Palmetto, South Carolina's highest civilian award.

 

The State, The Palmetto Business Report, The Southeastern Political Report, and a number of state business journals have named him the top lobbyist in South Carolina for a number of years, most recently in 2017.

Mr. Davis is a member of the Advisory Board of Directors of First Citizens Bank and a former member of the University of South Carolina Retail and Hospitality Board, the Town of Lexington Planning Commission, and the Harvest Hope Food Bank Board of Directors.

Annie W. Wilson, Esq

Partner

Annie Wilson, a South Carolina native, earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science at the University of South Carolina and graduated cum laude. She received her law degree at the University of South Carolina where she was Chief Justice of the Moot Court Bar, and a member of the Order of the Barristers, President’s Council, John Belton O’Neill Inn of Court, and Phi Delta Phi legal fraternity. Mrs. Wilson previously interned with several Columbia law firms and served as a law clerk for the South Carolina Senate Judiciary Committee. 

Prior to joining Capitol Consultants, Mrs. Wilson clerked for The Honorable Howard P. King, Circuit Court Judge, and was integral in the redrafting of the South Carolina Criminal Rules, currently pending, and traveled across the state assisting in the implementation of case management.

​

Mrs. Wilson is a member of the South Carolina Bar's Administrative Law Committee and regularly speaks to associations and community groups on the legislative process and advocacy training.

Nicki Davis

Association Executive

Chief Financial Officer

Nicki S. Davis is the Chief Financial Officer of Capitol Consultants and serves as an Association Executive. In this capacity, she coordinates annual conventions and trade shows and plans continuing education and informational seminars.

 

She oversees volunteers, manages committee functions, as well as designing and producing monthly and quarterly publications. She facilitates fundraising and special events including golf tournaments, trade shows, educational seminars and conventions.  

 

 

Mrs. Davis also assists clients in navigating the requirements under South Carolina's ethics law.

Donald Wood

Senior Executive Director

Media & Legislative Coordinator

Donald Wood, a South Carolina native, has served as an Association Executive and Media & Legislative Coordinator at Capitol Consultants since 2003. Mr. Wood was previously employed by The State newspaper for 15 years and most recently served as Reader Relations Supervisor in the newsroom.

 

Mr. Wood attended the University of South Carolina and majored in Political Science and History. At Capitol Consultants, Mr. Wood manages a business group and serves as an association management executive. He also assists in monitoring the actions of the General Assembly and obtaining critical information and distributing it to clients in a timely fashion.

Della Chadwick

Director of Financial Affairs

Della Chadwick, a South Carolina native, previously worked at Capitol Consultants from 2003-2005 as the Financial Manager and rejoined the company in 2013. She was previously employed by Silver Spur Properties, Inc. for 9 years as the Chief Financial Officer and has over 25 years of accounting experience. 

 

Ms. Chadwick’s duties include the daily accounting functions for Association Management clients. Ms. Chadwick also plays a key role in fundraising and event planning and coordination.

Brad Henry

Lobbyist

Brad Henry, a Columbia, South Carolina native, serves as a lobbyist for Capitol Consultants. Mr. Henry served as finance director for Governor Henry McMaster’s campaigns dating back to his 2002 race for Attorney General. Mr. Henry has also served on Senator John McCain’s presidential campaign and served as development and alumni relations consultant for the University of South Carolina.

​

In addition to his finance and development background, Mr. Henry has also negotiated various deals for a number of successful businesses. He is an alumni of the University of South Carolina, and just completed a term as a South Carolina Ports Authority Ambassador for the 7th Congressional District.

Adrienne Graham

Association Executive Director

Adrienne Graham, a Columbia, SC native, is a member of the Association Management Team.  Adrienne earned a B.A. in Behavioral Science from Erskine College and a M.A. in International Administration from Ohio University.  Adrienne has over twenty years’ experience in management at the association, non-profit, education and project level.  She began her career with an international focus, serving as a Peace Corps Volunteer, followed by managing international contracts for a Washington-based firm, and then returning to Africa to manage relief efforts in a portion of Southern Sudan. 

 

Adrienne served as Associate Director for an international non-profit in Mississippi for twelve years managing offices and projects around the world.  She also directed a unit at a university which successfully met its goals to increase their diversity population and international opportunities.  Adrienne has served in leadership positions for several organizations/associations, elected and appointed.  She currently works with several associations at Capitol Consultants on their day to day management, communications, oversight, and event planning.

Mary Grace Loveless

Government Affairs Analyst

Mary Grace Loveless, a South Carolina native, earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Health at the University of South Carolina and later received a Master of Public Health in the Department of Health Services Policy and Management.

 

During her time as a graduate student she served as a teaching assistant for undergraduate courses and as a research assistant at the Core for Applied Research and Evaluation, an office of research within the Arnold School of Public Health.

Kelsie Conrad

Director of Communications & Marketing,

Association Executive Director

Originally from Columbia, S.C., Kelsie Conrad attended the University of South Carolina to pursue advertising. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communications majoring in Advertising with an accompanying minor in Media Arts.
 

Ms. Conrad previously held marketing roles in the corporate insurance industry and serviced a broad spectrum of client accounts for a local advertising agency. Her passion is bringing brands, organizations and events to life with both off-line and digital marketing strategies and executions. 

​

Ms. Conrad's duties include executing communications and marketing initiatives, and daily management of Capitol Consultant association management clients in order to meet their strategic objectives.

Christina Oody

Receptionist,

Director of First Impressions

Christina Oody, a South Carolina native, has previously worked in several positions in charge of customer service. Her most recent position includes serving as the manager of the World Finance Corporation.

 

Her personal skills and customer care sets her apart from the rest. As a graduate of Lexington High School and Midlands Technical College, she has always loved South Carolina and continues to call it home.
